Deborah Carr graduated from IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law in 1989 and was sworn in that same year to the United States Air Force Judge Advocate General Corps, shortly after her admission to the Illinois bar. She served primarily as a criminal attorney, in both trial and appellate courts, and in both prosecution and defense. Also while serving as a JAG, she gained experience in international, tax, tort, contract, estate planning, and family law.

After her admission to the Maryland bar, Attorney Carr acquired an interest in elder law, with a growing base of widowed clients who were in constant need of protection from a variety of dangers–including their own children.

The family decided to move to Maine and experience more of a small town life. Deborah grew a new practice in the small tourist town of Greenville, Maine, located on the southern shore of Moosehead Lake, arguably one of the most beautiful places in the country. During this time, she practiced in real estate, probate and estate planning, civil litigation, contracts, criminal and family law. However, after thirteen winters in Maine, Deborah and family decided to move to sunny Arizona and enjoy the beauty of the southwest, an area that also includes family and friends.

The Carrs settled in Carefree, a community that affords the same small town friendliness of Greenville, yet is located conveniently to Scottsdale and Phoenix and all the cultural, shopping and dining opportunities available in a major urban area. After settling in, Attorney Carr gained admission to the Arizona bar and has opened an office in Carefree, directly across from the town office and the famous Carefree Sundial.
